„Give, and it will be given to you” (Łk 6,38).
Giving is an intrinsic aspect of love. It starts with focusing our attention on the others, with our readiness to share our ”wealth”, regardless of its material value. The wealth is meant to be goodness, thoughts, feelings as well as something that is extremely precious nowadays: time. Dedicating time to another person is a generous gift these days.
Giving is an art. It is beautiful if given immediately, without second thoughts, from the heart. It is beautiful if it brings joy to the donator as well as to the recipient. Giving is a testimony of love, its manifestation and flow.
We learn to give ourselves through our participation in all kinds of activities initiated by the Foundation. However, promoting and developing volunteering teaches us the art of giving in the most distinct way.
We involve volunteers in most activities of the Foundation. We cooperate with many organizations and institutions that provide help to the ill, the disabled or the socially excluded. Our volunteers offer help to their guidance counsellors, whereas their charges are invited to take part in our projects, in accordance with the idea of the integration of all societies.
“I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled” (Lk 12,49).
Love has a fire, an enormous energy which often makes it impossible for us not to love. We call it in various ways and it has various shades – from joy, passion, tenderness, sensitivity, longing, gratefulness up to suffering which motivates us to act in the name of goodness. It is an enthusiasm, God’s spark in a human being, without which any action would scatter into pieces producing no results.
We wish to live full of enthusiasm. We learn how to be spontaneous while facing challenges, open in communication, courageous in living. Only if we act with enthusiasm, can we overcome obstacles, our straightforwardness in going through failures helps us resolve crises. All these actions radiate and motivate the others to follow suit.
Invoking the absolute love, we want to endow everyone with affection, also adversaries. We will be the first to show affection, without expecting anything in exchange. We know that only this love removes all barriers and makes the impossible become possible.
”God is a Spirit” (J 4,24).
Nurturting love. Love has energy which dissipates in a natural way, if not exchanged. The fire of love, as any fire, does not burn on its own, it needs embers. Love has to be nurtured, so that is could radiate and did not lose its power.
We need contact with the source of love, with God. Thanks to prayers and reflection we keep feeding love, spontaneity leads us in the right way and our choices come out of the purity of hearts.
Spritual practice is the basis of the Drachma Foundation’s activity. Every work of the Foundation is accompanied by prayers, reflection and exchange of thoughts.
“So that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you...” (J 17,21).
Loving yourself. You cannot love people not loving yourself. My own „I” is the beginning of how I perceive the world. Empathising with the others starts with a first-hand experience. The way we perceive ourselves and the feelings we nurture for ourselves have influence on our attitude to the others.
Our body is a gift from God, it is a temple of the Holy Spirit. It is a tool to exercise all responsibilities. Since it is God’ work, it is perfect. Every its limitation has a hidden sense of our personal way to sanctity. We learn how to discover this sense. We protect our body because thanks to it we live, perceive the world and fellow creatures as well as experience a multitude of emotions. At the same time we exercise humility when faced with its limitations and fragility, in the face of illness and the final destiny, death, and resurrection as a result of it.
We exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle which entitles respect for our body and attention to health. We learn what is good for us and what harms our body. We propose various ways of physical activity. The participation should not be motivated by the desire to win, yet by finding joy in spending time together and by the possibility of developing physical fitness.
“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow” (...)” (Mt 6,28).
God placed man in a world full of beauty and harmony. Every day surprises us with its wonder and the secret of life, difficult to discover and understand. Our duty is to respect and care for God’s creation.
We want to light the fire of love in the surrounding world and to make it the measure of beauty and harmony as well as a reference for everything that we have the courage to create.
Our plan is to create beauty and make use of it in a conscious way. We want to “heal” the places in which we live, free it of ugliness, disarray or disharmony. We desire our apparel and residence to be made in the image of God’s Work.
„God is Light” (IJ 1,5).
Wisdom has little to do with knowledge, it can exist on its own. It can actually be identified with love. It comes from the same source - from God - and it is a gift of the Holy Spirit.
People often mistake wisdom for knowledge. Knowledge is important, even though science keeps discovering new laws and solutions, which contradict the previous ones. Therefore wisdom makes us use knowledge but it will not let us become attached to it.
We continue learning. Even if we make mistakes, wisdom helps us notice them and draw conclusions out of them.
Our aim is to support every aspect of the Drachma Foundation’s activity with experts’ knowledge. We are going to organize workshops, trainings and courses. We want to use wisely the acquired knowledge, in line with our inner voice and our heart, based on our reflections, conversations and prayers.
„Everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you” (J 15,15).
The flow of love. Love in itself flows trying to capture everything. Every its sign radiates and creates another link. Our aim is to make this flow more intense and help it reach the innermost realms of human hearts, and of the world in general.
We want to use every possible means of communication to fill the massmedia with the message conveying the most beautiful energy of the world, that is Love.
